ABOUT THE AUTHOR
LESLIE R WELCH, DC
Dr. Leslie, as she prefers to
be called, lives in Edmond, Oklahoma. She got her undergraduate Bachelors of Science,
in Human Biology, and her Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine in 1996. She has owned 4
medical businesses. She ran her chiropractic practice for 9 years, she has done safety and ergonomic consulting for multiple companies across the nation, she has, and still does, public speaking on a national and local level on a gamete of topics, and she owned a women’s fitness center where the public and her patients were introduced and trained in exercise physiology and physical therapy. She is lucky to have two sons, great parents, wonderful friends, and a very special loved one, all who provide her with love and support. In her 9th year of practice, she
woke up one day and couldn’t move. She lost everything overnight with a
diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia. After 12 years of medical
care with no improvement and a pain level of 9-10. She dealt with multiple pain crices and hospital stays, she needed a walker or a scooter to get around, she took 40 pills a day, and underwent infusions every month, all with no help. She decided to take things into her own hands. She researched and experimented, and eventually found a combination of
wellness and alternative care treatments that decreased her pain. She still does them everyday to participate in her own care, allowing her to
achieve her best life with the least pain possible. Her goal is to teach you to do the same. Realistic expectations are important, it is not likely that you will completely eliminate your pain, but you do have the ability to not give it power over your life. It’s a change in the way you think about your pain and the way your body responds to it. It is her hope that she can educate others in this process so that they can get a semblance of their lives back. This is why she wrote her book.
